Patgaon dam is situated near Near Village Patgaon on Vedaganga river in taluka Bhudargad. Gross Capacity of Dam is 3.71 TMC. Patgaon Dam is constructed by one main dam body including three saddle dams. Annual average rainfall in this area is nearly 5500 mm. The Saddle dams which are situated at the back side of the Main dam is mainly in the forest land, so the surrounding area is rich in forest flora and Fauna, Wildlife and also in Bio diversity. Saddle dams area situated on the verge of Valley ranges of Sahyadri i.e Kokankada. The Local name of this valley is ‘Shidichi Pach’, also geographically it is Kurli River Valley.
In the rainy season, thick fog and clear springs form and they fall from the hills. There is a pleasant atmosphere throughout the year. For cooking food, walk or trek in the forest, enjoy the pleasant and pollution free and natural environment, many tourists visit the dam throughout the year.
There is a Monastery / Math of Mauni Maharaj at Patgaon. It is said that Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj went to South Digvijaya after visiting Mauni Maharaj in this Math.
Rangana Fort is situated on the Konkan ridge in the vicinity of Patgaon dam and its construction is different from other forts so the tourists visit to this fort for trekking. As fort is situated on Kokankada, said that, it was viewpoint of Maratha Empire to see the invaders from kokan.
Bhudargad fort is located near Gargoti village and the remains of the fort are still in good condition. There is a temple of Kalbhairava at the fort and a large number of tourists visit this temple.
